15th of October 2025, Dortmund, Germany

On October 15, Simagic ignited pre-show buzz by revealing three upcoming hardware releases ahead of the ADAC SimRacing Expo Dortmund—among them the new Alpha Evo Ultra direct-drive base. While many eyes are on the Zeus Formula wheel and P700 pedals, the Evo Ultra is drawing its own share of excitement for promising a new level of force feedback and smart features.

Alpha Evo Ultra: Power, Precision, and Smart Features

The Alpha Evo Ultra is built around a five-pole custom servo motor capable of up to 28 Nm of torque, placing it well above earlier flagship units in the Simagic lineup. According to the details released, the Ultra promises a smooth “zero-cogging” feel, aided by ultra-low inertia design and 21-bit encoding for fine fidelity. Its aluminium alloy shell gives the base rugged durability, while a new magnetic dashboard supports a telemetry-linked RGB light ring (e.g. ABS, traction control notifications) to add visual feedback directly at the wheel hub.

Connectivity is a highlight: the Ultra features direct USB support, easing the integration of third-party wheels, and the firmware includes advanced software tools such as a force prediction filter and tunable center damper. These allow sim racers to dial in force feedback behavior before even putting on a lap. The Alpha Evo family (Sport, Evo, Pro) remains modular, ensuring the Ultra will work within Simagic’s evolving ecosystem.

Simagic’s unveiling of the Alpha Evo Ultra suggests they want to push their base game forward—not just incrementally. With higher torque, smarter telemetry integration, and broader compatibility, the Ultra could be a serious contender in the high-end direct drive space. At the Expo, we’ll want to test real-world smoothness, compatibility with third-party wheels, and how intuitive the software tuning tools are.
