Fanatec, the sim racing hardware branch of CORSAIR, has revealed two flagship products at the SimRacing Expo 2025 in Dortmund: the new Podium DD wheelbase and the long-awaited Podium Pedals. These next-generation peripherals replace the previous Podium DD2 base and represent a clear push into the high-end racing hardware space. The Podium DD boasts a binding torque of 25 Nm with a peak overshoot of 33 Nm, paired with a full-metal construction and Fanatec’s FullForce® haptic feedback system. The Podium Pedals set features a forged aluminium brake pedal, a >200 kg load cell and a compression control system designed for consistency under heavy use.
Alternative for Fanatec’s Upcoming Products
For sim racers considering other high-end components beyond Fanatec’s launch, MOZA Racing offers a compelling alternative. MOZA’s new R25 Ultra True Torque wheelbase delivers 25 Nm of sustained torque, a built-in true-torque sensor sampling at 2 kHz / 0.1% accuracy, a zero-cogging flat-wire motor and a 21-bit magnetic encoder. Its price is notably lower than many flagship units, positioning it as a high-performance option for those seeking premium specs without arriving at ultra-premium pricing. For buyers comparing ecosystems, MOZA’s modular design and aggressive spec sheet make it a viable challenger to Fanatec’s new Podium series.
Timing, Availability and What to Watch
Fanatec confirmed that both new Podium Series products are slated for launch in Q1 2026, with pricing to be announced closer to the release. Warranty support will extend three years globally. While the hardware was shown in prototype form at the expo, official retail versions are still pending. Key questions include how the FullForce system will perform in real-world titles, how console compatibility will be handled, and how both visibility and availability will play out given Fanatec’s global distribution. With MOZA already shipping alternative high-end bases, prospective buyers should keep an eye on hands-on reviews and firmware maturity before committing.
